RI bishop asked Kennedy in 2007 to avoid Communion – Yahoo! News.

If I remember correctly, when this country was founded there was this little clause about the separation of church and state. Our founders knew that religion has no right in the governance of the country and they, quite properly, made that very clear.

Well, over two hundred years later and the damn catholics are still doing everything they can to control how this country runs and enforce their bullshit hypocrisy on everyone else.

If it’s made clear that catholic members of the congress and the senate are taking casting their votes based on religious views, as they are, it’s pretty clear who is actually in charge of their politics.

I have the freedom of religion and, more importantly, the freedom FROM religion. This backwards ass country we live in seems to be trying to revive the dark ages, you know, when the church was the absolute governance. They were called the dark ages for a reason.

If I remember correctly, priests, bishops, cardinals, and popes all take a vow of Celibacy (aside from altar boys), Poverty (they have so much money it’s not even funny), and Humility (telling the members of the senate and congress how to vote).

Bullshit. Religion needs to go, no matter what, in the end, it will need to control everything and everyone while destroying logic and rationality in the process.

Intelligence Squared

A little while back there was a debate on whether or not the Christian church was a force for good in the world. Christopher Hitchens and Stephen Fry stood on the side that it is not a force for good. The whole debate is about 5 videos long and really quite informative and entertaining.

Science & Morality

For some reason, probably ego, religious people seem to feel that only they, because they have religious beliefs, hold the reigns to morality. This is pure insanity if you look at all the harm religions and their institutions have perpetrated on the human race over time.

Richard Dawkins on how science can benefit our ability to repair the world’s suffering.
